Animal Humane Society offers many services for the community including: adoption, surrender, outreach, rescue and training. AHS is a private non-profit organization that receives no federal, state or government funding and relies totally on private donations, merchandise sales and adoption fees.

From April to October, River Valley Riders provides therapeutic horseback riding and carriage driving to 40 clients per week in the St. Croix River Valley. Benefits include improvement of balance, increase of core strength, development of self-confidence and improvement of social skills.
